Over the past few years we’ve enjoyed many ‘late into the night’ conversations discussing how the once trusty and popular Merlot is often overlooked and generally under appreciated. Thinking we could help add a few bricks into rebuilding its reputation as an approachable and affordable alternative to the mighty Cab we decided in mid 2017 it was time for Merlot to rise up and rock again, with soil under our nails from hours of scouring many vineyards we eventually sourced enough fruit from a sustainably farmed block in Paso Robles, the grapes we selected had enjoyed a life of just enough sun and daily streams of cooling fresh Pacific breezes. Perfect we thought!
The result of this adventure is 768 bottles of shimmering light ruby red wine that delivers notes of ripe bramble fruit. Your palate will be excited by the distinct flavors of fresh plums, blackberries and dark cherries. We feel the wine we made fills your senses but without overwhelming them. Our suggestion is drink now with friends or cellar for 3-5 years.
